Welcome to St. Sebastian's Church, Thazhekad

This Church is a milieu where the fragrance of religious harmony pervades abundantly.  The famous feast of Kurishumuthappan (St. Sebastian) attracts millions of people from everywhere irrespective of Caste or creed.  Many foreigners do visit this land with great enthusiasm and earnest inquisitiveness.  This is a place of historic importance and locus for research in ecclesial and secular history of Kerala.  The significance of this area is due to its historical, commercial and religious background.  The first Friday observance has become a great spiritual celebration for the faithful to deepen their faith.  The recently constructed New Church is one of the most beautiful churches in the diocese.  There is a typical serenity in this area that haunts everybody.  The Hindu temples and the different ventures of Catholics all stand for the unity of humanity.  The people here walk with each other and work hand in hand and they spread the news that divinity is omnipresent in beings who love.  The devotion towards St. Sebastian unifies the faithful.  The presence of Religious and the hard work of time to time pastors shaped the ecclesial life of Thazhekad Parish.
